What is a TMA and what is the purpose?

TMA stands for Truck Mounted Attenuator, which is a kinetic absorption device mounted to the rear of a safety truck.
It acts as a crash cushion that absorbs impact when hit, reducing the force applied to the driver of the impacting vehicle.
TMAs are essential for protecting workers in highway construction zones, acting as a protective barrier between crews and passing vehicles. They absorb kinetic energy and G-Force from collisions, reducing the risk of serious injuries or fatalities for both workers and drivers
